SNAP Access & Security reinforce site security at Chippenham Pit Stop

Chippenham Pit Stop, one of the UK’s premier truck stops, has invested £2 million to expand its parking area and site security. The investment highlights the site’s commitment to providing truck drivers and fleet operators with a secure environment. The grand opening took place on Thursday the 13th of March and has been well received by the general public as well as the Road Haulage Association.

As part of the £13 million Lorry Parking Facilities Improvement Facilities Fund, National Highways has put more than £720,000 into the project. The project has added an additional 63 lorry bays for drivers looking for somewhere to rest up, eat healthier food, and use an all-weather gym. In addition to extra spaces, Chippenham Pit Stop has invested in its restaurant, kitchen, toilets, and showers.

SNAP Access & Security involvement

SNAP Access & Security was heavily involved in the upgrade by installing industry-specific security technology to enhance safety and efficiency at the site. The installation included advanced automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology, higher definition CCTV surveillance, and a robust barrier entry system.

“Our mission is to make business premises safer and more efficient for drivers. Integrating our security solutions at Chippenham Pit Stop ensures that drivers have access to a facility where they can rest confidently.” – Ben Sheldrake, Head of Commercial at SNAP Access & Security.

SNAP Access & Security has become a trusted provider of intelligent security solutions for the haulage sector and plays a crucial role in modernising truck parking security across the UK.

SNAP bookable

As part of the installation, SNAP has also integrated its newly developed bookable technology into the site, enabling drivers to book their parking at Chippenham and have a guaranteed space. The site also offers newly installed charging points for refrigerated lorries, meaning drivers will not need to keep noisy diesel engines running overnight.
